Survey reports world-wide rise in interactive display sales
A new report from Futuresource Consulting has shown that gobal sales of interactive displays have risen significantly, with vendors having shipped more than 300,000 units in Q1 2015.
With an overall year-on-year growth of 42 percent, the report indicates that more sectors are taking up the use of interactive panels, with the education sector showing a 20 percent increase in adoption and the corporate demand for such products expected to grow to the same size by 2018.
"Interactive flat panels are quickly becoming the standard display," says Colin Messenger, senior market analyst at Futuresource Consulting. "This growth has been driven by a few factors including large scale investment projects like Fatih in Turkey and the Chinese Education Department, integrating the technology into the educational system."
While sales have continued to decrease in the USA, there was a 31 percent growth in Asia in Q1. According to the study 80 percent of all UK screen sales are now for interactive flat panels, while more than two thirds of the countries monitored by Futuresource have more than ten percent of interactive displays in their country-wide inventory.
