The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved the drug Spritam – the first prescription medicine that has been manufactured through 3D printing. The drug is for adults and children that suffer from certain epileptic seizures and dissolves when in contact with liquid. The FDA has also ratified 3D printed prosthetics and held workshops for medical manufacturers looking to use the technology.
