Xaar targets manufacturing growth with new appointment
Xaar has announced Keith Smith as new director of advanced manufacturing. He rejoins Xaar after having been sales manager for North and South America from 2002-05, after which Smith went on work for touch sensor manufacturer Token ITO.
From his base in the USA, Smith is now responsible for developing strategic manufacturing opportunities and partnerships outside Xaar's established markets, reporting directly to chief executive Dr Doug Edwards. Smith has expressed an interest in the company branching out into touch sensor displays, ink-jet-printed semiconductors, 3D production printing and robotic coating applications.
"We are fortunate to have recruited Keith into this important new role in Xaar," comments Edwards. "He brings the ideal combination of in-depth knowledge of key growth markets for Xaar technology and global sales experience in B2B technology in China, Taiwan, Singapore, Japan and North and South America. As an ex-Xaar employee, it's also good to welcome him back."
