The British Coatings Federation has launched a scholarship programme for chemistry graduates wishing to study the MEng in Formulation Chemistry (Paints, Inks and Coatings) course at the Itech University in Lyon, France. The scholarship will pay tuition fees for the three years of study, with the winning candidate will also gain eleven months of work experience through three internships with UK coatings manufacturers each summer.

"The Itech University in Lyon is known by industry for producing the highest level Masters chemistry students for the coatings and ink industries in Europe, and they have a 100 percent success record in students finding jobs in the industry" explains Tom Bowtell, chief executive of the BCF, "Our industry is at the heart of several advanced manufacturing technologies around the world but we have a shortage of skilled R and D staff and an ageing workforce, which means there are strong job opportunities for chemistry students."

The deadline for applications is the end of June 2015, with the course starting in September 2015. For more information about the degree and the application process, visit: www.itech.fr/pages/afutureincolour
