University of Westminster establishes digital fabrication faculty
The University of Westminster will officially launch its Fabrication Laboratory programme today, April 28th, as it opens the purpose-built facility for digital fabrication.
As a 'state-of-the-art' hub for learning, the centre will provide research support for students and run short courses, offering access to a wide range of technology for design and production processes such as robot fabrication, CNC routing and milling as well as 3D printing.
"The new Fabrication Laboratory will allow students to immerse themselves in and explore the exciting and rapidly expanding field of digital fabrication," comments Dr David Scott, senior lecturer and academic leader for the Fabrication Laboratory Westminster. "It gives them a fantastic opportunity to produce work of the highest quality, offering new design possibilities and creative outcomes."
