US-based Signage Foundation appoints ex-ISA director
Sapna Budev has been chosen by The Signage Foundation (SFI) to become its executive director, handling a broad range of public-facing and organisational work, as well as outreach, best practice and academic engagement. Budev becomes the organisation's first full-time staffer.
Formerly director of strategic initiatives at ISA, Budev has been involved in a number of key areas, including international growth, trade shows, membership, sustainability and professional practice. In 2013 she led the publication of the Urban Wayfinding Planning and Implementation Manual, created collaboratively by SFI and ISA, and has worked broadly across the spectrum of stakeholders in sign manufacturing, including regulatory organisations. She continues to volunteer for the US Green Building Council.
SFI board chair Duane Laska comments: "The SFI board is excited to have a person with [Budev's] background, passion and enthusiasm guide its operation as our first full-time staff member. The appointment of Sapna will enable SFI to greatly increase its presence as a research and education foundation."
