HP has sealed a partnership with Sculpteo that will see the manufacturer's Sprout computer system directly connected to the latter's 3D printing service.

Under the agreement, users of the Sprout platform will be able to upload their 3D scans directly to Sculpteo, which will then produce the design and ship it back to the customer. This link-up aims to give users of HP's system that lack the relevant equipment an easy, affordable route into 3D printing.

"This is exciting for Sculpteo to take part in history: to be at the forefront of 3D-capable computing for creatives and have our company lead the way as a trailblazer in the second industrial revolution," suggests Clément Moreau, chief executive of Sculpteo. "This is a watershed moment for our company, as well as the 3D printing industry as a whole."
